The Decree provides measures against cotton contamination. 100% cotton cloth sacks should be used for harvesting, transport and storing of cotton.. Some other materials that would not cause contamination may also be used. However, the use of jute, hem is forbidden. Companies and individuals, cooperatives, carding plants are not allowed to purchase, market, process and store cotton packed with prohibited materials; licenses of such processing and storing facilities will be revoked. A Committee on Preventing Cotton Contamination shall be instituted in every production site to define measures and conduct inspections. Training activities on prevention procedures shall l be organized jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Undersecretariat on prevention methods of Foreign Trade with the participation of Commodity Exchanges and Exporters’ Unions.
