This Law, composed of 14 articles, institutes, within the Secretary for Health and Environment, the State Foundation for Environmental Protection (FEMAP). FEMAP shall operate as the technical body of the State System of Environmental Protection. It shall be in charge for controlling, licensing, performing studies and research, as well as implementing programmes and projects aiming at granting environmental protection in Rio Grande do Sul State. The Decree regulates its competences and internal structure.
