This Regional Legislative Decree is composed of five Chapters divided in 38 articles. It institutes the Authority for Water and Waste Services Regulation of Azores Island (IRSARA) and regulates its main functions and competences. Special attention is paid to the control of water for human consumption and wastewater, in order to reduce risks for the health and pollution. It also provides criteria for monitoring ERSARA expenses and regulates its funding.
