These Regulations prescribe basic safety standards for the protection of workers and all other persons against ionizing radiation. Every licencee shall ensure that for all exposure from any particular radiation source within a practice, protection and safety shall be optimized in order that the magnitude of individual doses, the number of people exposed and the likelihood of incurring exposures be kept as low as reasonably achievable. The Regulations set forth: dose constraints and limits; responsibilities of licencees and employer of workers who are engaged in activities involving normal or potential exposures to protect workers from occupational exposure; protection measures from medical exposure; protection of exposure to the public; etc.
