The present Law lays down provisions relating to the breeding of animals. In particular, the purpose of the Law is to ensure favorable conditions for a sustainable, innovative and locally adapted animal breeding, as well as to avoid heredity defects and thus promote animal production in Bavaria. The text – consisting of 19 articles – deals with the following issues: purpose of the Law, assessment of performance and transfer of data, compulsory reporting of hereditary defect, insemination facilities, competent authorities, promotion of animal breeding, apiculture, empowerment to issue regulations, monitoring, administrative proceedings and entry into force.
