This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of state quarantine phytosanitary inspection at border crossing points subsequent to the results of document check. It shall not be applicable to products subject to quarantine phytosanitary inspection (except for planting materials, seeds and potatoes) imported by legal persons for personal use not related to entrepreneurial activity. Each lot of produce subject to quarantine phytosanitary inspection shall be accompanied by: (a) commercial and transport documents; (b) phytosanitary certificate; and (c) import authorization for quarantine organisms (pests) used for scientific research. Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Service shall be public competent body authorized to carry out state quarantine phytosanitary inspection. In case of prohibition of import of the products of plant origin as a result of quarantine inspection an official of the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Service shall imprint “Import prohibited” on the accompanying documents and affix official personal seal bearing identification number of the official.
