This Order imposes a levy on all arable crops (except maize grain, maize silage, and cereal silage) grown in New Zealand for sale or to be used within the grower’s farming operation. The levy is payable to the Foundation for Arable Research Incorporated. The Order provides for: rates of levy based on the selling price of the arable crops; expenditure of levy money; record-keeping requirements of growers who sell arable crops; mediation of disputes; etc.
