This Law regulates the artisanal production of dairy products in Pernambuco, with the main objective of establishing clear standards for the definition, production, processing, and commercialization of artisanal products such as cheese, butter, and dairy derivatives. It aims to ensure that these products are produced in accordance with traditional methods while maintaining strict hygienic and sanitary conditions, including requirements for animal health, milk quality, production processes, and facility standards. By setting these criteria, the law seeks to guarantee the safety, quality, and authenticity of artisanal dairy products, as well as to protect consumers and support the recognition of regional production practices. In addition, the law establishes mechanisms to ensure traceability, inspection, and certification, requiring registration with the competent agricultural authority and compliance with technical and sanitary regulations throughout the production chain, including packaging, storage, and transport. It also promotes professionalization and capacity-building among producers, encouraging participation in training programs and adherence to best practices.
