This Law regulates the conditions for the creation, financing, management and use of the strategic commodity reserves on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, further providing space for the effective physical storage and safekeeping, also including the rights and duties of the government and other bodies in the mandatory management of commodity stocks. Strategic stockpiles or commodity stocks are created for the provision of basic supplies: in case of war or imminent threat to the independence, unity and existence of the Croatian Republic; and in the event of major natural disasters and technological and environmental disasters that are potentially dangerous for the human and environmental safety and/or natural health conditions The Law is divided into 8 Chapters and 34 articles, including the offences and related penalties. The Annex is an integral part of this Law, also containing the official list of authorized and necessary stocks.
