This Decree, consisting of 19 articles, establishes the Incentive Programme for Rehabilitation and Restoration of Riparian Forest Vegetation within Watershed Basins and specifying the standards to be satisfied for native tree protection. This Programme aims at increasing the protection and conservation of water resources and biodiversity, through the optimization and targeting of public and private investments for: protection and rehabilitation of riparian forests, springs and water sources; protection of aquifer recharge areas; expanding the coverage of native vegetation in watersheds, especially upstream catchments for public supply; planting native trees and improving the management of production systems forming water source basins.
