This Norm, consisting of 24 articles and four Annexes, establishes the procedures for requesting and issuing an Authorization to Capture, Collect and Transport Biological Material (Abio) in the context of the federal environmental licensing processes. The entrepreneur must request the authorization Abio to perform related activities, specified in the text involving capture, such as: collection and/or transport of biological material; terrestrial fauna and/or aquatic biota; rescue and release of terrestrial fauna and/or aquatic biota. The management, transportation and release of fish fry for restocking/filleting purposes are subject to the approval of the environmental programme, but do not require Abio, and must comply with the legislation pertinent to this type of activity. Abio's issuance will depend on the approval of the Work Plan or Environmental Programme, as well as the necessary documentation. The request of Abio must be sent to IBAMA accompanied by specific documents, according to the type of activity to be performed.
