These Interim Measures, consisting of 10 articles, are formulated in order to vigorously develop modern agriculture. The family farm mentioned in these Interim Measures refers to the rural economic entity with farmer household as the basic unit of organization and commercial production as the main purpose, and engaged in the appropriate scale of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery activities (art.2). The Text provides for the rules, procedures and requirements to be followed on selection and accreditation of family farms. Family farms which meet the accreditation requirements may have the priority to benefit from the government support policies.
