Implementation plan of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for response to climate change.

The Implementation plan of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for response to climate change is a regional multi-sectoral policy document which aims at responding to climate change. The overall objective of the Plan is to adopt measures and mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change on agriculture, livestock, fisheries, forestry and natural resources. The Plan recognizes the link between climate change and food security: climate change affects the four components of food security, namely food availability, food accessibility, food utilization and food system stability. The strategy aims to help eliminate hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition. With a view to making agriculture more sustainable, sectoral adaptation and mitigation interventions are set out. Adaptation measures include the prevention, tolerance or sharing of losses, changes in land use or activities, changes of location, and restoration. The strategy also aims to reduce poverty, not only in urban but also in rural areas. Focus is given to increasing the resilience of livelihoods to disasters.
