The present Act lays down provisions relating to the Hibernia Development Project. For the purpose of the present Act “Board” means the Canada–Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board established by the joint operation of section 9 of the Canada–Newfoundland and Labrador Atlantic Accord Implementation Act. Section 3 of the Act establishes that he Minister may, with the approval of the Governor in Council, enter into one or more agreements on behalf of Her Majesty in respect of the Hibernia Development Project. The agreements concern above all the payment of a contribution in respect of the capital costs of the Project. The text consists of 23 sections.
