This Law stipulates several basic principles and various requirements in terms of preservation, management, protection (biodiversity); fire protection; protection of habitats and land from erosion; protection from floods; water and hydropower issues and impact) and strengthening of general-purpose forest functions, aimed to implement the rational, sustainable and controlled use of forests and forest land on the territory of the Brcko District (both private and public forests (here defined as public interest goods). The Law further sets the provisions governing various forest related activities and necessary works (also forest planning and reporting); forest economy and related issues; forest products and forest production in terms of revenue, benefit and sustainability; hunting, fishing and tourism related rules (also governance); ban of grazing; cultivation of endangered species; and other rules important for the national forest sector. This text is divided into IX Chapters and 69 articles, including the offences and consequential penalties (see Chapter VIII, articles 62-65).
