This Law, with the aim of food origin and quality compliance data collection, reporting, protection and control, further determines several issues related to food labelling and food labels such as protected designations of origin, protected designations of geographical origin and guaranteed traditional specialties of agricultural and food products (national food symbols/marks). This Law also defines the competent national and local bodies and complete set of tasks such as official controls, administrative and penalty measures in relation to the provisions of the Regulation (EU) No. 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs.
