This Resolution, consisting of five sections, approves the Technical Regulation for Food Irradiation. This Regulation applies to all food treated by irradiation with a view to the sanitary quality of the final product. The treatment of food by irradiation must be carried out in facilities licensed by the competent state or municipal authority or the Federal District upon the issuance of a Sanitary authorization by the National Nuclear Energy Commission and registration with the competent body of the Ministry of Health.
