These Measures are enacted in accordance with the provisions of Article 44 of the Fisheries Act for the conservation and maintenance of rhincodon typus resources for sustainable use. It is prohibited to catch or hold rhincodon typus. Rhincodon typus caught accidentally, whether alive or dead, shall be immediately released into the sea. However, if they are used for domestic teaching or scientific research, they shall may be retained after obtaining the approval of the Fisheries Agency of the Council of Agriculture, the Executive Yuan. It is also prohibited to trade or possess rhincodon typus meat and the products thereof.
