This Complementary Law, consisting of 37 articles and seven Annexes, establishes the modernization and reorganization of the basic structure of the Institute of Agricultural, Livestock and Forestry Protection of Espírito Santo (IDAF). IDAF has the institutional purpose of promoting and executing health protection policies; inspection of products of animal origin; control over agricultural, forestry, fishery, wildlife, water resources and soil activities; apply penalties to illegal activities related to health protection; contribute to the awareness on the conservation of forestry and water resources, the adequate management of pesticides and animal and plant health protection; disseminate educational practices related to the protection of the environment of the population's health; develop environmental education and the promotion of scientific research; promote the adoption of principles and actions for the preservation of wildlife; supervise the production, use, application, storage, marketing, internal transportation, distribution, research and testing of pesticides; register the research, experimentation, distribution, marketing, storage and application of pesticides; promote and execute sanitary, animal and plant surveillance activities, and supervise the development of these activities, etc.
