This Decree, consisting of 24 articles divided into five Chapters, establishes new attributions, management mechanisms, budget regime, supervision, organization and functioning of the Energy Fund (FUNAE), created by Decree No. 24/97 of 22 July. FUNAE, FP, has the following attributions: a) resource mobilization; b) establishment of financing platforms to enable small-scale energy projects, including those proposed by the sector; c) designing, implementation and development of energy projects and services in rural areas; d) realization and publication of studies of energy potential and investigation of technologies for more efficient use of energy services; e) planning, coordination, evaluation and monitoring with national or foreign or private entities, in the development of projects and solutions for the use of energy that contribute to increasing access to energy; and f) establishment of shareholdings in undertakings and companies under the terms of the law.
