Recommendation By ICCAT To Replace Recommendation 03-20 On Criteria For Attaining The Status Of Cooperating Non-Contracting Party, Entity Or Fishing Entity In ICCAT (21-24).

This Recommendation provides that each year, the Executive Secretary of ICCAT shall contact all non-Contracting Parties, Entities, or Fishing Entities known to be fishing in the Convention area for species under ICCAT competence to urge them to become a Contracting Party. The text further provides provisions on application to the Executive Secretary 90 days in advance of an ICCAT annual meeting, the needed information to be provided by the Non-Contracting Parties, Entities or Fishing Entities requesting the status of Cooperating non- Contracting Party, Entity or Fishing Entity and the requirement for annual voluntary financial contributions to the budget of the Commission beginning in 2024.
