WECAFC members are advised to adopt the January 2017 Harmonized System Codes and provide customs officers with appropriate training to better regulate conch trade. Furthermore, countries are encouraged to utilize technology to detect and control conch product trade, while CITES Management Authorities must ensure a "Legal Acquisition Finding" before issuing export permits for queen conch.
