This Law establishes, under the State Agriculture System (SEAGRI), the State Programme for Water Security in Agriculture, with the aim of encouraging the adoption of preservation, conservation and production practices by rural producers and their organizations. These practices should increase water availability and the quality of water resources in their multiple uses by Paraná society, mitigating the problems arising from periods of water deficit, with priority given to family farming. The objectives of the State Programme are: implement practices and procedures to reduce qualitative and quantitative conflicts regarding the multiple uses of water in water sources of public interest in the state of Paraná; reduce the scarcity of water resources available to the population and the productive sector in periods of water deficit, seeking to guarantee adequate supply; implement practices and technologies for the protection, recovery and conservation of natural resources; guarantee, in periods of water deficit: promote actions to mobilize and integrate social actors in the communities involved; promote more sustainable and self-sufficient agricultural production systems; promote environmental education actions with the various social segments involved.
