This Administrative Instruction here determines the standards for enriching the flour with iron and folic acid, including issues on related control and safety and quality, as well as specification on its labelling. Flour producer and importer, in addition to the specific details, according to the applicable legislation, shall contain also a logo for flour enrichment and premix content. Specific labelling indications are defined in articles 4 and 6. Conditions for flour storage are laid down in article 5. Article 11 sets issues regarding the related official controls. An integral part of this Administrative Instruction are: Annex 1: With quick test about the iron; Annex 2: Quality and quantity analysis; Annex 3: Determining Folic Acid based on HPLC analysis, and Annex 4: Logo of enriched flour.
