This Policy provides for strategy development, planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting within the long term policy environment focusing on SADC Vision 2050, the African Union Agenda 2063 and the United Nations SDGs. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the background for this Policy. Chapter 2 lays down the purpose, objectives and scope of the Policy. Chapter 3 contains the guiding principles for Strategy Development, Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Project Management. Chapter 4 provides for the policies and actions for strategy development, planning and programming, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Chapter 5 deals with mobilising stakeholder support. Chapter 6 identifies the roles and responsibilities of the SADC Summit, secretariat, council of ministers, committees, officials and other bodies. Chapter 7 provides for procedure to amend the policy.
