This Law creates the Green Exchange Programme. The Programme aims to promote environmental sustainability through the exchange of recyclable waste for food in the State of Acre. The Programme's principles, through joint action between the government and the public secetor, are: I - improving selective waste collection in hard-to-reach areas; II - contributing to the food security of the socially vulnerable population; III - encouraging the generation of income-generating work in the state's recycling cooperatives; and IV - increasing the useful life of the state's sanitary landfills.
