This recommendation extends and amends prior ICCAT measures for the conservation of North Atlantic swordfish by maintaining the total allowable catch (TAC) at 13,200 t through 2023, with updated allocations and quota transfer provisions among Contracting Party and Cooperating non‐Contracting Party, Entity, or Fishing Entity (CPCs). It sets rules for underage/overage adjustments, clarifies specific flexibilities for some parties, and integrates changes reflecting the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The measure underscores the importance of the ongoing Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) process, with Standing Committee on Research and Statistics (SCRS) and Panel 4 tasked to finalize candidate management procedures in 2023, aiming for adoption of a harvest strategy to guide TACs from 2024 onward.
