Under Section 19, the State Heritage Fund is established, used to finance the purchase of heritage in accordance with this Enactment, cover expenses related to the maintenance, conservation, preservation, restoration, protection, research, campaigns, publications, and related activities concerning heritage (whether government-owned or otherwise), and provide grants or loans under this Enactment. Designated sites become conservation areas subject to conservation management plans. Part VII requires the reporting and delivery of objects of cultural heritage significance, with penalties for non-compliance. Such objects are generally vested in the Government, subject to possible compensation. The Director may declare and register heritage objects with necessary consents, manage and safeguard them, and provide compensation. According to Section 55, the Minister may declare any heritage site, heritage object, or any living person as a State Heritage. Offences in respect of the aforementioned provisions are dealt with in Part IX.
