Sheep and Goat Breeding Development Program for 2024-2028.

This program establishes a state support framework for the development of sheep and goat breeding, aimed at increasing productivity and profitability in the livestock sector through the formation of high-value breeding herds. It promotes the introduction of genetically superior pedigree animals and supports the gradual transition from traditional extensive practices to more efficient production systems adapted to modern livestock management. The measure provides financial assistance to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in small ruminant farming through partial reimbursement of the costs associated with the purchase or importation of pedigree animals. Up to 50 percent of the acquisition cost may be compensated within established financial limits. The framework defines eligibility requirements for beneficiaries, including creditworthiness and tax compliance, as well as administrative procedures for submitting applications, verifying supporting documentation, and confirming animal certification and veterinary records. The regulation also establishes monitoring and reporting obligations to ensure the proper use of public funds and the maintenance of breeding animals for herd reproduction. Oversight is carried out through periodic monitoring of herd development, productivity indicators, and compliance with program conditions, with provisions allowing the recovery of funds in cases of non-compliance. The measure aims to strengthen the genetic potential of domestic livestock populations, increase meat production, and improve the economic performance of the sheep and goat farming sector.
