The Recommendation provides that NEAFC sets a recommended total catch limit of no more than 533,914 tonnes for Norwegian Spring-Spawning herring in 2026, based on scientific advice. Contracting Parties must establish and notify their own conservation and management measures, including catch limits, and restrict fishing to authorized vessels flying their flag. These measures apply within the NEAFC Regulatory Area and do not affect any future management decisions for the stock.
