This Law establishes the State Programme for Access to Food (PEAA) in the State of Rondônia, with the primary objective of ensuring access to food and improving food and nutrition security for individuals in situations of vulnerability. The programme is designed to provide support through multiple mechanisms, including direct food distribution, financial transfers, food vouchers, and access to meals, in order to guarantee regular access to adequate and sufficient food. It prioritizes populations affected by food insecurity, particularly in contexts of emergencies such as natural disasters and in areas lacking sufficient food distribution infrastructure. In addition, the law aims to strengthen social protection and integrate food security policies within the broader state framework by linking the program to existing initiatives and funding mechanisms, including the State Fund for Combating Poverty. It establishes that benefits will be defined and regulated by the executive branch according to available resources and the needs of beneficiaries, ensuring flexibility in implementation.
