This Penal Code provides for punishment and penalties in relation to various offences relating to property, public health, food, water, and animals. These include the offences and punishment in respect of fraudulent use of false weighing or measuring instrument, false weight or measure, and being in possession or selling false weights and measures. Further, the Penal Code lays down the punishment for offences affecting public health and safety and includes offences such as acts likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life, disobedience to a quarantine rule, adulteration of food or drinks, sale of noxious food or drink, adulteration of drugs, fouling the water of a public spring or reservoir, making atmosphere noxious to health, conveying person by water for hire in a vessel overloaded or unsafe, mischief by injury to public road, bridge, river, drainage, works of irrigation or by wrongfully diverting water, negligence with respect to any animal, and mischief by killing or maiming cattle or any animal,.
