This Law establishes the Programme for the Conservation and Rational Use of Water in Public Schools of the State of Acre, with the primary objective of promoting sustainable water management practices, reducing water waste, and strengthening environmental education within the public school system. The law encourages the adoption of water-efficient technologies, the installation of rainwater harvesting systems, the implementation of awareness campaigns on water conservation, and the carrying out of regular assessments to identify leaks and inefficiencies in water use. It also promotes the integration of water conservation topics into school pedagogical projects, aiming to foster responsible environmental behavior among students and school communities. To support the implementation of the programme, the law authorizes the state government, subject to budget availability, to install water-saving devices, assist schools interested in developing rainwater collection systems, and establish partnerships with public and private institutions.
