This Regulation incorporates into Icelandic law several EU Commission Regulations that refuse authorisation for specified health claims relating to food, including claims concerning disease-risk reduction and children's development and health. The Regulation designates the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority and municipal health committees as the competent enforcement authorities, applies the penalties provided under Icelandic food legislation to infringements, and gives legal effect in Iceland to the relevant EU decisions rejecting the use of those health claims on food products.
