These Rules, made under sections 3 and 15 the Fish and Fish Products (Inspection and Quality Control) Ordinance, 1983 (Ordinance No. XX of 1983), amend the Fish and Fish Products (Inspection and Quality Control) Rules, 1997 by replacing the prescribed fee schedules contained in the Rules for applications, licences, renewals and appeals relating to establishments operating within the fish and fish-products control system. The amendments also concern health certificates, establishing separate charges for: applying for a health certificate; issuance of the certificate; correction or amendment of a certificate; re-issuance where a health certificate has been lost or destroyed. Finally, the Rules amend the fees for laboratory testing of fish and fish products, including tests for pesticides and heavy metals.
