This guideline is formulated and implemented by the Utility Regulatory Authority (URA) under the powers vested in it by section 33 of the Utility Regulatory Act (No. 26/2020). It lays down the guidelines in respect of drilling site, environmental protection, machinery and equipment, supervision of work, technical specifications for boreholes, record and reporting requirements, water quality testing, code of conduct and penalties.
